Automatic Gates

Automatic Driveway Gate Installation in New Braunfels, TX

A powered entry gate matched to your fence line, sized to your driveway, and built to take the operator that's going to be swinging it several thousand times a year.

The gate has to be built for the motor

An automated gate is a moving structure, and every cycle puts load through the hinges, the frame and the post. Gates built as static panels and then automated afterwards are the ones that sag and stop latching. We build entry gates knowing an operator is going in, which changes the framing, the hinge specification and how deep the gate post goes.

Swing or slide

Swing gates need clear arc space and a driveway that isn't rising steeply away from the road. Slide gates need run-off space along the fence line but cope with slope and wind far better. Which one you get should be decided by your driveway, not by preference.

Power, access and safety

The operator needs power at the gate, and you need to decide how people get in — keypad, remote, or an intercom. Safety reversal on a heavy powered gate isn't optional. We'll cover all of it at quote stage rather than after the trench is dug.

Common questions

Should I get a swing gate or a slide gate?

It comes down to your driveway. Swing gates need clear space to open into and a reasonably level approach; slide gates need room to run along the fence and handle slope and wind better. We'll look at the entrance and tell you which one actually fits.

Can you automate a gate I already have?

Sometimes. It depends on whether the gate and its post were built to take the loads an operator puts through them. We'll assess honestly — automating an under-built gate just breaks it more expensively.
