Fence Staining
Fence Soft Wash & Staining in New Braunfels, TX
A low-pressure clean that doesn't shred the wood, then a stain that actually penetrates it. This is the service we built the company on.

Why soft wash and not a pressure washer
A pressure washer at the settings most people use will strip the soft summer growth out of the grain and leave the wood furred and fuzzy. It looks clean for a week and then it looks worse than before, because you have just opened up the surface and given water more places to sit. Soft washing uses chemistry and low pressure to lift the grey and the mildew without tearing the fibre — which also means the stain that follows soaks in evenly instead of blotching.
The stain matters as much as the prep
A film-forming product sits on top of the wood and eventually peels, which is why so many re-stains start with someone scraping off the last one. A penetrating stain goes into the wood and wears rather than flakes, so the next maintenance coat is a wash and a recoat instead of a strip-back. We'll walk you through the colour range on your own fence, in your own light, before you commit.
Timing
New cedar generally needs to sit and dry out before it will take stain properly, and staining too soon is one of the more common ways a good fence ends up looking patchy. If your fence is brand new, ask us when to book rather than booking immediately — the answer is usually worth waiting for.
Common questions
How often should a fence be re-stained in Texas?
It depends on sun exposure more than anything. A west-facing run that takes full afternoon sun will need attention sooner than a shaded north side. When the colour starts flattening and water stops beading, it's time.
Can you stain a fence that was never sealed?
Yes, and that's a lot of what we do. Weathered grey wood usually needs the clean-and-brighten treatment first to take the surface back before any stain goes on, otherwise the colour goes on over the damage rather than fixing it.
Do you stain both sides of the fence?
We'll quote it either way. Staining both sides costs more but protects the fence properly and keeps you on good terms with your neighbour, which is worth something.
