Ask us a questionHow much does a new fence cost in New Braunfels?
It comes down to four things: total linear footage, material and grade, fence height, and how difficult the ground is to dig. A flat quarter-acre suburban lot and a sloped acreage lot with caliche can differ by a lot for the same run of fence. We give free, itemized quotes, and you can price a build yourself with our Design Your Fence tool before you ever talk to us.
How long does a cedar fence last in Texas?
Cedar holds up well here because its natural oils resist rot and insects. The limiting factor usually isn't the pickets — it's the posts. A cedar fence on wood posts commonly starts leaning once the posts rot at the ground line, while the same fence on steel posts keeps its line far longer. Sealing the wood and keeping the finish maintained is the other half of the equation.
Do I need to stain a new cedar fence?
You don't have to, but an unsealed cedar fence will go silver-grey within a season or two of Texas sun, and unprotected wood takes on and releases moisture with every weather swing — which is what causes warping, cupping and splitting. Staining is what keeps the color and slows that cycle down. This is why we build with pre-stained lumber: the sealing is already done when the fence goes up.
What is pre-stained lumber, and is it worth it?
It means each board is sealed on all six sides before it's installed, rather than the fence being sprayed after it's standing. The difference is the surfaces you can't reach once the fence is built — the cut ends, the back faces, the overlaps where boards meet. Those are exactly the places water gets in and rot begins. Staining after the build never reaches them.
Do you offer a warranty on fence installation?
Yes. Our fence builds carry a 1-year structural warranty covering all framing and posts, and we offer a 1-year warranty on metal-framed gates. Full details are on our warranty page.
Should I choose cedar or composite fencing?
Cedar gives you the natural look and can be re-stained in any color you want later, but it needs maintenance to stay that way. Composite costs more up front and can't be stained, but it doesn't grey out, doesn't need sealing, and holds its color through Texas summers. If you don't want to think about your fence again, composite. If you want the wood look and are willing to maintain it, cedar.
Can you restore an old fence instead of replacing it?
Often, yes — and it's usually the cheaper answer. Our two-step clean-and-brighten process pulls the grey out of weathered wood and takes the surface back to something close to new, and we can replace individual damaged pickets as part of the job. If the posts are gone, replacement is the honest recommendation and we'll tell you that.
